A design researcher with a focus on craft, creativity, technology and learning. Currently part of the the team that facilitates the Creative Education program at Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Bengaluru. Also serve as the Design Director at Inclusive AI Lab, Utrecht University, Netherlands and Partner at Justice Adda, a law and design focussed social enterprise. Currently pursuing my PhD at the Utrecht University in the Faculty of Humanities where I’m looking at Reclaiming Craft as Knowledge: Decolonising Creativity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.

**EYE SPY AI

2026**

This toolkit was made as part of the year long Research Illustration Collective Fellowship supported by the Hong Kong Baptist University’s Academy of Visual Arts. At the end of the fellowship each participating illustrator educator from the Global South contributed a 10 page zine that could become a session plan for an illustration class.

This toolkit invites you to find new metaphors for representing AI. The intention is to not find the perfect analogy or create the perfect visual, but to wonder what we learn about AI when we relate it to something else. AI is a social reality and not just a technological invention. Finding metaphors allows us to imagine and associate it beyond the black box and the digital binary. Take a notebook and pen and begin to SPY with your little EYE what is AI?

DIVERSIFYING THE DIGITAL COMMONS

This project was developed at the Inclusive AI Lab, where I contributed as the Research Lead. Multiple publications from the project are underway and will be accessible later this year. You can find out more about the project here.

This project with Adobe’s Equity Product team pilots novel ways to debias datasets with diverse underrepresented groups in India. The project led to the development of a framework for UX researchers to ensure meaningful and ethical engagements and fair exchange value with the engaged groups.

2020-21

I participated in the project as the Design and Communication Lead at JusticeAdda. In this role I designed the visual identity and extended it to collaterals such as the project website, book cover, chapter breaks and the digital storytelling campaign which included animations, etc. We also conceptualised and designed workshops for the project and templates associated with them as well as a toolkit. Feminist Approaches to Labour Collectives (FemLab.co) is an IDRC funded project that builds on an understanding of communicative ecologies of women in specific sites of informal labour to explore how digital platforms can be leveraged by them to share grievances and communicate directly to the top of the supply chain, allowing their voices to contribute to the governance of the future of work.

**FINDHR (Fairness and Intersectional Non-Discrimination in Human Recommendation) is a Horizon Europe funded project in which research, technology, law, and ethics intersect and it explores data de-biasing, fairness in synthetic data, and AI’s impact on the future of work.**

I participated in the project as the Design and Communication Lead at JusticeAdda and created artistic visualisations for their key findings about the use AI in hiring process.
